University of Žilina receives prestigious HR Excellence in Research award

We are proud to share that the University of Žilina (UNIZA), a valued partner in the InCITIES consortium, has been awarded the prestigious HR Excellence in Research award by the European Commission. This recognition underscores UNIZA’s commitment to implementing the principles of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers, collectively known as the Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R).

This achievement, the result of continuous efforts by Prof. Ing. Tatiana Kováčiková, Ing. Veronika Kunová, and various colleagues across UNIZA faculties and workplaces, aligns closely with the objectives of Work Package 3 (WP3) – Talent Scout and Career Opportunities Strategy of the InCITIES project, led by TH Köln, which aims to:

  1. Strengthen the attractiveness of research careers by fostering a pipeline of talent essential for an effective European Research Area, including reforms in career assessment.
  2. Support partners in shaping Human Resources strategies for researchers (HRS4R), promoting ethical recruitment and favourable working conditions.
  3. Develop transparent recruitment strategies for PhD and postdoctoral talents, ensuring openness and merit-based selection processes.
  4. Integrate Open Science goals and processes into institutional practices, enhancing the accessibility and dissemination of research.

UNIZA’s attainment of the HR Excellence in Research award reflects its dedication to creating a stimulating and supportive environment for researchers, enhancing its international reputation, and contributing to the broader goals of the InCITIES project.
