A number of personalities, including the Portuguese Prime Minister, António Costa, the Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education, Elvira Fortunato, the Minister for Territorial Cohesion, Ana Abrunhosa, the Minister of Culture, Pedro Adão e Silva, the Prime Minister’s Assistant Secretary of State, António Mendonça Mendes, among other guests, attended the inauguration of the new Research, Development and Innovation facilities of ISCTE, Lisbon, Portugal, on the 20th of November 2023. This new facility of ISCTE – ISCTE Knowledge and Innovation – has more than a thousand researchers developing hundreds of projects in a building that hosts eight research units, three associated laboratories, three collaborative laboratories, a Digital Innovation Hub, a Technology Transfer and Valorisation Centre, eight observatories and nine laboratories. This gathering enables to boost the collaboration between the several ISCTE research units, generating new areas for knowledge co-creation with companies and the society stakeholders. This inauguration took place during the Portuguese Science and Technology Week and the new ISCTE Knowledge and Innovation Centre had an Open Day to the whole society during the afternoon of the 20th of November. InCITIES was one of the few projects to be present at the event showing the relevance that the institution attributes to it. Worth mentioning that several InCITIES Associated Partners were also present at the inauguration, namely, the President of the Portuguese Volunteer Confederation, Eugénio Fonseca, a representative of the Lisbon Municipality (CML) – member of AML (Lisbon Metropolitan Area), which is an InCITIES partner, among others.
