In October 2024 ISCTE organizes a Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) with a physical component in Lisbon on the theme: Ways of Inhabiting and habitat models in 21st century cities: facing the affordable housing crisis:The crisis of housing affordability, which began in the centres of the main cities, has been spreading intensely to the rest of the metropolitan areas through ripple effects. Focusing on the case study of a municipality adjacent to the city of Lisbon, the course will centre on the interdisciplinary discussion – combining architecture, urbanism and the social sciences – of housing solutions for concrete realities that exemplify the expansion of the crisis to the peripheries.
As short-term mobility opportunity, students will have the opportunity to come to Portugal for one week, to develop critical thinking at international level and reflect on the topics related to the BIP.
