Prof. Uwe Ufer is the CFO of the Diakonie Michaelshoven in Cologne, which employs approximately 2800 full-time and 650 voluntary staff. Previously, he was mayor of the town of Hückeswagen from 2004 to 2013, among other positions.

Prof. Ufer is a widely recognized expert in the field of management and organization of non-profit enterprises and as such has been an honorary professor at the TH Köln since 2023.
The German weekly Computerwoche named Prof. Uwe Ufer „CIO of the Year“ in 2007, 2009 and 2010 for his role as mayor and head of IT and communication of the city of Hückeswagen.
